Half Bengals and the scam behind it

Now that I have talked about those who are selling cats on Craig's list who are not even closely related to Bengals and trying to pawn them off as Bengals because someone so desperately wants one, I will talk about a second way people are dishonest but really have a part-bred Bengal cat... Those who did buy from a person who has one Bengal they bred to a non-Bengal and it is obvious because the cat is in fact Leopard colored. HOWEVER if you do not see his registration papers, and he is not sold with Breeding rights, it means this person LIED to the breeder and paid a pet price, then turned around and breed for a profit only. So they ripped off the breeder. Is this really someone you want to support and give money to?

I get it, Bengals are crazy expensive! I do understand there is a need for cheaper Bengals for someone who is an amazing owner and will have the animal fixed and cares more about the fact that they could get a cat with leopard spots than it's pedigree and if it can show. I am actually the ONLY person I know who considers cross breeding alright IF it is done honestly and the person has a Breeding cat that they paid for BREEDING RIGHTS. I think sometimes breeding for personality in a pet can be beneficial for the clients. However I do not support those who lied about buying their cat as a pet knowing full well they were hoping to make a profit, doesn't the breeder who is following the rules deserve to make a profit and feed their family if this is their business? Yet the buyer who lied not only ripped that person off of the immediate sale (paying only $900 for a pet and not the $2500 as a breeder perhaps) but then also flooded the local market by undercutting that breeder with cheap cats taking further customers in a dishonest way.

I know there are purists who will fall out of their chair because they see NO reason to breed something that won't have papers, but for those who are looking for a cheaper option to achieve your dreams of owning one of these very special cats, don't support the people who came by them dishonestly.
